HUNTINGTON -- The easy living of summertime meets that slow sweet pace of a Sunday.

Eric Easley, long-time urban entertainment promoter in West Virginia, is bringing Summertime Sundays to the floating Holderby's Landing Barge and Grill, 1360 Harris Riverfront Park.

"I've done between 600 and 700 events in West Virginia, and I've never done anything like this," Easley said.

The daytime party will kick off at 3 p.m. every Sunday through Labor Day and will roll into early evening to catch the sunset along the Ohio River.

Easley, who's known for his stable of cool DJs, will have DJ Miz out on the patio spinning Top 40 hits, Motown and hits from the '70s, '80s and the '90s.

There will also be a full menu, as well as varying music flavors inside the restaurant and on the smaller deck as well.

The Summertime Sundays are sponsored by JC Cognac and Budweiser.

Cover charge will be $5 and free for the first 50 people. Women in groups of three or wearing swimwear get in free.

Easley has put on events all over West Virginia.

"It's going to be a real nice twist not having the disco lights and four walls and a ceiling but to have the river and that landscape as our surroundings," Easley said.

Easley said with the three different spaces at Holderby's, he hopes to draw a mixed over-21 crowd of young professionals and older folks.

"It's an alternative that people have been craving where you have a restaurant and a sit-down bar where you can mingle and dance too," Easley. "I'm hoping Summertime Sundays will be a place where you can have great conversations and where the who's who of Huntington will meet the future who's who of Huntington."
