Day may be best time to catch vampire flick
HUNTINGTON -- Ironically, if you want to see a good vampire love story, your best bet might be during the daylight.
As of Wednesday afternoon two of tonight's three midnight showings of "Twilight" were sold out at Marquee Cinemas at Pullman Square.
Beth Casey, crew chief at the Pullman Square 16, said those two sell-outs and more demand prompted Marquee to open a third screen to "Twilight" for the midnight showing.
For Friday, the 6:40 and 9:30 p.m. shows are sold out for "Twilight," and Casey is expecting the Saturday night evening shows to go as well.
"It's up there with 'Dark Knight,'" Casey said in regards to ticket sales. "But not quite 'Hannah Montana.'"
Although all fall short of the glory of Hannah Montana, "Twilight" is expected to be one of the strongest holiday film box office hits as there is already a strong fanbase built from Stephenie Meyer's best-selling "Twilight" book series.
Casey said the safest bet for catching the show this weekend is probably to catch the 2 hour and 18-minute PG-13 horror flick during the day.
"Probably earlier in the day will be OK," Casey said. "Usually the evenings are our biggest times, but it's also hard to see what the daytime is going to be like for this one."
