Appalachian Uprising announces its 2010 lineup for June festival

November 29, 2009 @ 11:06 AM

SCOTTOWN, Ohio — The eighth annual Appalachian Uprising festival in Scottown, Ohio, has announced its lineup for its 2010 Festival that is set for June 3-5 at Eden Valley Farm just north of Proctorville in Scottown.

Headlining the festival for the eighth straight year is new grass pioneer, Sam Bush.

A founding member of New Grass Revival, Bush, a three-time Grammy Award-winner, just celebrated the release of “Circles Around Me” on Oct. 20.  That 14-song CD includes appearances by Del McCoury, Edgar Meyer, Jerry Douglas and, thanks to the discovery of an old demo, New Grass Revival co-founder Courtney Johnson (posthumously). The album also employs the phenomenal talent of Bush’s band: Scott Vestal, Stephen Mougin, Byron House and Chris Brown.

Other bands booked for this year’s Uprising include: The Grascals, Bobby Osborne and Rocky Top Express, Marty Raybon, J.D. Crowe, John Cowan, Cadillac Sky, John McEuen, Drew Emmit of Leftover Salmon, The Hillbilly Gypsies, Melvin Goins and Windy Mountain, Loraine Jordan and Carolina Road, Joe Mullins and The Radio Ramblers, ETA, Step Into The Blue and Sawgrass.

Tickets are on sale right now for AU 2010. You can get a 3-Day pass from now up until Christmas for $80 and that includes camping for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, as well as free firewood and access to the shower amenities and other facilities.

As in years past, gates will open on the Monday before. Camping passes will be available for purchase for those who choose to come out to Eden Valley Farm early.
