Cafe Zeal serves up delicious fare and coffee drinks. There's free WiFi too. Call (606) 324-8565. Go online at www.theframeupgallery.com.

The Left Bank Cafe: Located inside the Pendleton Art Center, 1537-1539 Winchester Ave. When artist Gary Preston isn't painting murals or carving wood, he's keeping Ashland caffeinated and bellies full with those great grilled paninis. Call (606) 325-3815.

Taylor Books: 226 Capitol St., Charleston. This indie bookstore, cafe, art gallery, and boutique has been bringing the cool since 1995. The Annex Gallery is full of local contemporary art and handmade crafts. The Annex Studios has lots of art classes as well including potter classes. Call (304) 342-1461.

Tamarack: Get a cup of coffee and some top-notch food (from the chefs of the Greenbrier) at Tamarack in Beckley. The latest exhibit is Modern Interpretations that features nearly 50 of Tamarack's artists. The new show runs through March 9, and is sponsored by the Tamarack Foundation. Tamarack is open daily 8 a.m. until 7 p.m., at Exit 45 off I-77/65 in Beckley. Call 88- TAMARACK or go online at www.tamarackwv.com.
