Barboursville Fall Festival continues through Saturday
BARBOURSVILLE -- The 27th annual Barboursville Fall Festival is in full swing today and is just one of a plethora of festival options in the region this weekend.
The Barboursville Fall Fest began Wednesday with carnival games, featured a parade on Thursday and continues through Saturday. Today's highlights include live music tonight from The Legends and Buffettman. Saturday will feature a car show and live music from Joey Dee and The Starliters Rock and Roll.
Carnival tickets are $12 and $15. The carnival is located at Sadler Field. All other events in downtown Barboursville are free.
Here are some of the other festivals going on this weekend:
CHILIFEST: The 25th annual Chilifest will take over downtown Huntington on Saturday. The event, which features championship chili, lots of tasting, live entertainment and more, will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. along 3rd Avenue and Pullman Square.
MOTHMAN FESTIVAL: The Mothman Festival will take place Saturday and Sunday in Point Pleasant. The event celebrates the legend of the Mothman with music, movies, vendors, crafts, tours of the Mothman Museum and Research Center and more.
POAGE LANDING DAYS: Ashland pays homage to its roots with a super street festival called Poage Landing Days that runs today through Sunday. The free festival features a fiddle fest, national-act entertainment, a skateboard race, car and bike shows and more.
ART IN THE PARK: Art in the Park, held in the heart of Ritter Park near the 8th Street entrance, runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. About 30 artists from the Tri-State Arts Association will showcase and sell their wide range of works including oil, acrylic and watercolor paintings, pastels, pottery, batik art, photography and other mediums.
