Artists Series delivers 'Cats' to sold-out crowd
HUNTINGTON -- A sold-out crowd experienced one of Broadway's longest-running musicals, "Cats," on Monday night at the Keith-Albee Performing Arts Center.
The show was part of the Marshall Artists Series, and it continues at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, at the center.
As of presstime Monday, a few hundred tickets remained for Tuesday's show.
Tickets are $55, $50 and $45 and are on sale now at the Joan C. Edwards Performing Arts Center box office and all Ticketmaster locations, online at ticketmaster.com or call 304-696-6656 for more details.
The popular show is just one of the many Artists Series events coming up. Here are what's next in the upcoming shows at the Keith-Albee:
8 P.M. TUESDAY, FEB. 23: Lucille Ball: "Thank You for Asking" is a celebration of the first lady of television performed by actress and renowned impressionist, Suzanne LaRusch, and written by LaRusch in association with Lucie Arnaz and Laurence Luckinbill.
MARCH 5 TO 7: The Spring International Film Festival will feature films from around the world, including "Departures" (Japan); "The Girl From Monaco" (France); "Burma VJ: Reporting From a Close Country" (Belgium); "Lake Tahoe" (Mexico); "Flow: For the Love of Water" (USA); "Lemon Tree" ( Israel).
8 P.M. MONDAY, MARCH 15: Mozart's "Don Giovanni" -- Hailed by many as the greatest of all operas, Mozart's "Don Giovanni" is based on the true-life escapades of Don Juan of Seville, an aristocratic lothario who lived during the 1600s.
7:30 P.M. THURSDAY, APRIL 22: Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance is a mesmerizing blend of traditional and modern Celtic music and dance.
FOR TICKETS: Show tickets may be purchased by phone at 304-696-6656 with all major credit cards, or in person weekdays from noon to 5 p.m. in the box office in the Joan C. Edwards Performing Arts Center. Tickets can also be ordered through Ticketmaster at 304-523-5757 in Huntington or 304-342-5757 in Charleston, and online at www.ticketmaster.com. Or, pick up your tickets at any Ticketmaster outlet including select Kroger Stores and FYE in Huntington and Ashland. Full-time Marshall students may get one free ticket three weeks before each show. Part-time students may purchase a half-price ticket. Valid MU ID card is required. When available, tickets are sold at the door on event nights beginning one hour prior to the performance.
