Paramount looking for a few more Chilifest booths
Booths are still available for interested cooks at the Great Bowls of Fire Chili Fest and Cook-Off at the Paramount Arts Center on Saturday, Sept. 27. Chili Fest is a regional ICS sanctioned chili cook-off and follows all ICS rules and regulations. All ICS chili cooks must be current members in good standing or have applied for membership to the ICS prior to cooking. While the fee for membership is minimal, the fun you'll have competing is mucho maxo!
The first place winner in the red chili competition, the first place winner in chili verde, and the first place winner of the salsa competition will be eligible to compete in the ICS World Championship. Complete rules, regulations, application and entry fee listing are all available on the Paramount Arts Center web site at www.paramountartscenter.com or at the Paramount Arts Center box office at 1300 Winchester Avenue. Call 606-324-3175 for more information. Deadline for cooks is September 20.
We are also reserving space for Community Chili Booths. Community vendors do not need to be members of ICS to participate. They will be competing for "People's Choice Chili" where the cook with the most tasting coupons wins! This year, two special races will take place in the Media Competition and the Realtor Competition.
Chili Fest is held on the parking lot adjacent to the Paramount Arts Center located at 1300 Winchester Avenue in Ashland. Spend the day tasting great chili or relaxing with a cold drink in our cantina! The event also features a children's play area, cool ice cream, ribs from Texas Roadhouse, and live entertainment all day. It's a great day to mingle with friends and fill up on chili.
Also new this year is the "Haute Dog in the City" contest which will pit pooches against each other in the cutest costumes. You'll read more about that in the next release.
