Greek Festival schedule of events
Here's the schedule for this weekend's 25th anniversary Greek Festival with food, Greek folk music, dancing, church tours, a Greek gift shop and more.
WHERE: Huntington St. George Greek Orthodox Church, at 701 11th Ave.
HOW MUCH: Free
WHEN: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday; 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday; and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
DANCING: 6 p.m. Friday; 1, 4 and 7 p.m. Saturday and 1 and 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
DIRECTIONS: From I-64 (East or West) take the downtown/5th Street exit. Follow 5th Street down the steep hill. Cross a small bridge on 11th Avenue. Turn right onto 11th Avenue. Drive two blocks and St. George Greek Orthodox Church is on the right The church is located on the corner of 7th Street and 11th Avenue.

GREEK MOVIE: Get another taste of Greek culture at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, as the LaBelle Theatre, 311 D St., South Charleston is showing the film, "Goodbye Miss Fourth of July," based on the Christopher Xenopoulos Janus' autobiographical novel about growing up in a Greek-American family in Montgomery, W.Va. Janus, a resident of Wilmette, Ill., a suburb of Chicago, will travel to South Charleston to personally introduce the film. The event is co-sponsored by Charleston's leading Greek restaurant, The Best of Crete, located at the food court of the Town Center Mall in downtown Charleston. Admission is $4.
