Jenna Palmer: Picoult's 'Perfect Match' will shock, surprise readers
I have never read an author who truly digs into the psyche of their characters like Jodi Picoult. I've now read three of her books and have found that she not only pays attention to every detail which she describes, but also can truly get into the mindset of each character she uses in her storyline.
The book "Perfect Match" especially shows this trait. In the story of a prosecuting attorney whose 5-year-old son is molested, Picoult embarks on a journey to answer the question "What happens when the job hits close to home?" The book shows the emotional roller coaster that all involved in the investigation must ride in order to find the perpetrator of such a terrible crime. From the emotional attachment of the investigator, to the boys and his family, to the accusation of the boys' father, the story twists and turns leaving the reader unable to put the book down.
As with almost all of her books, Picoult includes in her a tale an event that will leave the reader wanting more. If you're looking for a good read with the ability to shock and surprise you, "Perfect Match" is that book.
