Here's a look at just a few of the good deals for running the Gauley River. Also go online at the West Virginia Division of Tourism site at www.wvriversports.com to access the Web sites of all the professional whitewater outfitters running the Gauley River.

Just Another Manic Monday: West Virginia Adventures in Glen Jean offers $99 Upper Gauley trips and $89 Lower Gauley trips on any Monday during Gauley season. Go online at www.trywva.com.

Pedal and Paddle: At 4 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 16, Class VI-Mountain River will host West Virginia native and Tour de France cyclist Will Frischkorn who will lead a guided tour of the new mountain biking and hiking trail system at Class VI-Mountain River (www.class-vi.com) and Wild Rock West Virginia (www.wildrockwv.com) in Lansing, W.Va. Frischkorn will talk about his cycling career at a wine tasting reception and dinner at Smokey's on the Gorge. The mountain bike ride is free. Reservations for the ride and the limited-space reception and dinner ($50) can be made at 800-252-7784 or 304-574-0704. There's also a $115 package (rafting Monday, Sept. 15) that includes a raft trip on the Upper or Lower Gauley River and the mountain bike tour, reception and dinner.

Bridge Day Package: Songer Whitewater in Fayetteville, has a deal to raft the Lower New on Bridge Day (Oct. 18) and then raft either the Lower Gauley or the Upper on Sunday, Oct. 19, the last day. Gauley River Hog Wild Weekends: With West Virginia Adventures in Glen Jean. Two nights camping, a Gauley River Trip, a hog wild dinner Saturday night. Cost is $179.99. Go online at www.trywva.com.

Two for One Rafting: Cantrell Ultimate Rafting has two for one rafting on the Upper and Lower Gauley on Mondays and Fridays. Bridge Day Standard: North American River Runners has a Bridge Day special. Spend Bridge Day on the bridge and raft on Sunday. This package includes two nights camping, a buffet breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, Bountiful Buffet Dinner on Saturday night, and either an Upper Gauley or Lower Gauley rafting trip on Sunday.
