Carter Caves State Resort Park a great January weekend getaway

 A great outdoors getaway this weekend can be found in Kentucky at Carter Caves State Resort Park in Olive Hill.
 

Hit the caves this weekend and beat the crowd.
 

The last weekend in January, they're expecting about 740 to 750 cavers from all over the United States to come for the 27th annual Crawlathon.

 In fact, if you want to get a good trip for Crawlathon, you have until Jan. 15 to pre-register for one of the 103 different trips are filling up.
 

About 40 trips are already filled up although there are still plenty of spaces available on trips for cavers from beginners to the bravest expert in the bunch.
 

Crawlathon is a weekend of wild caving trips, canoeing, pit plunging, vertical workshops, caving workshops, kids trips, for all levels of caves.

Registration deadline is Jan. 15.
