NAACP Freedom Fund Banquet set for Oct. 19

HUNTINGTON —The Huntington-Cabell branch of the NAACP will have its annual Freedom Fund Banquet at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 at the Marshall University Memorial Student Center.

This year’s theme is “We Shall Not Be Moved.”

Arley Ray Johnson is the keynote speaker. Johnson, formerly of Huntington, is a graduate of Marshall University. He was a member of Huntington City Council and a member of the West Virginia House of Delegates.

Johnson was Executive Director of West Virginia Workforce Investment Board; Director of Programs, Office of the Governor - Office of Economic Opportunity, Charleston; Director of Government Relations, NASCSP, Washington, D.C., Executive Director, Advocates for the Other America, Inc.; and presently Co-Founder, ARMADA International Advisors.
