Rally for Women in Recovery set for Saturday, Nov. 2
HUNTINGTON — A Rally for Women in Recovery will take place from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2 at the Barnett Center, located at 1524 10th Ave. in Huntington.
The event will feature live music entertainment begin at 2 p.m.
There will also be several public awareness events including Voices of Women in Recovery, where women share their experience, strength and hope, at 2:30 p.m.; a panel discussion called Women’s Addictions Recovery Issues and Solutions (moderated by Dr. Cheri Lindberg) at 3:30 p.m.
There will be children’s activities from 2 to 5 p.m. featuring face painting, crafts and games.
There will be substance abuse prevention activities for tweens (ages 10-12) and teens (ages 12-17).
In addition, there will be a spaghetti dinner from 5 to 6 p.m. and donations will be accepted .
The Rally is being sponsored by HER Place, a new non-profit organization dedicated to the mission of fostering hope, providing education and supporting recovery for women (and their children) who are suffering from alcohol and drug addition.
