Huntington City Mission planning for Thanksgiving
HUNTINGTON -- The Huntington City Mission, 1030 7th Ave., will have its annual Thanksgiving Dinner from noon to 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 22, in the facility's dining hall.
It is a complimentary dinner intended that no one eat alone or go without on this national holiday.
This year's dinner will include 44 baked turkeys, green beans, potatoes/gravy, corn, sweet potatoes, cranberry salad prepared by Susan Hofstetter and much more. In addition to the meal, a variety of desserts will be prepared by members of Steel Memorial Church.
In addition to the scrumptious menu, the placemats will be donated by students from Ranger Elementary School.
There are still needs for the dinner that anyone can help with. The mission is seeking 250 yellow, orange or seasonal napkins and 250 clear 16-ounce cups for iced tea.
Enough volunteers have already stepped to help serve the meal this year, including the Marshall University basketball team which will meet, greet and serve people from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
