The 2012 campaign is under way for The United Way of the River Cities with a goal of $1.25 million. Reaching that goal helps fund programs for more than 20 Tri-State agencies that provide vital services in Cabell, Wayne, Mason and Lincoln counties in West Virginia and Lawrence County, Ohio. One of those partners is the Coalition for the Homeless.

Program mission: The Coalition for the Homeless serves those experiencing homelessness in the Cabell-Wayne area. The Coalition's day shelter, Harmony House, provides homeless health services, offered through a partnership with Valley Health Systems and their ongoing McKinney-Vento Health Care for the Homeless funding.

Outcome: CHCH will provide approximately 800 prescriptions annually, 100 dental exams, 75 eye exams/glasses, transportation, hygiene supplies and street showers to homeless individuals.

How you can help: Give through the campaign where you work or visit www.giveunitedway.org. For more information, contact Scott Neill at scott.neill@unitedwayrivercities.org or 304-523-8929, Ext. 2.
