Huntington Christmas parade set for Nov. 29
WHAT: The annual parade has a theme of "A Salute to Christmas -- Honoring Our Local Heroes," and will include members of the armed forces, police, fire, EMS, teachers or anyone considered a local hero. The grand marshal of this year's parade is Medal of Honor recipient Woody Williams. The parade will culminate in the lighting of the city Christmas tree at Pullman Square. The event is sponsored by Moses AutoMall.
WHEN: 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29.
WHERE: The parade starts on 13th Street and proceeds west on 4th Avenue to 8th Street. Participants then will march down 8th Street to 3rd Avenue. From there, the parade will continue east on 3rd Avenue to Pullman Square.
SEEKING PARTICIPANTS: The parade organizers are seeking participants for the parade. Any group, organization, or business is welcome to participate and there will be prizes awarded. All parade vehicles must be decorated in either the parade theme or a holiday theme. The deadline for parade applications is 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23.
