Willie Nelson and Family coming to Arena in April
HUNTINGTON — American music legend Willie Nelson has been booked for an April concert at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22 for the 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 5 concert featuring Willie Nelson and Family, which features Country Music Hall of Famer Willie Nelson, his sister, Bobbie (on piano) and his son Lukas on guitar, among the band members.
Nelson was honored in 2012 by the Country Music Association with an all-star tribute at the CMAs, has a packed tour schedule that includes dates at the Toronto Jazz Festival as well as the famed Hollywood Bowl in California.
The Texas-based artist last played Huntington in 2007 with Ray Price and Merle Haggard. He’s since sold out several shows at both the Paramount Arts Center in Ashland as well as the Clay Center in Charleston.
He’s known for stacks of hit songs including “On the Road Again,” “Crazy,” and dozens of others. Nelson, who has recorded albums and songs with everyone from Wynton Marsalis and Ray Charles to Merle Haggard, released a new album this past year called “Heroes,” with special guests including Billy Joe Shaver, and Snoop Dogg, who guested on the song, “Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die.”
