Golf benefit raises more than $35,000
Officials with the Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital (OLBH) Auxiliary announced its annual golf benefit at the Bellefonte Country Club raised more than $35,000, according to a news release.
The proceeds from the golf benefit and silent auction will support the hospital's acquisition of medical equipment and to the Holy Family School Scholarship established in memory of former OLBH vice president Jim Fuzy.
"Everyone with the auxiliary is very pleased that we raised even more this year than last year's successful event," Luann Serey, director of OLBH Community Services, said. "It was also a thrill to be part of the history made at the tournament with Mr. O'Bradovich."
For the first time in the 34 years of the benefit, a participant won an automobile by hitting a hole-in-one on hole number seven. Mike O'Bradovich, 67, from Lynch, Kentucky, won a 2014 Cadillac ELR (sticker value of $78,010) donated by Don Hall GM Supercenter by hitting the 165-yard hole-in-one.
