Kentucky library offers e-reader basics class

ASHLAND-- A new weekly program at the Boyd County Public Library is designed to teach people how to download materials to their e-readers or other electronic devices.

The e-reader Basics class will focus on the materials available for free downloads to library card holders through the library's website, www.thebookplace.org. Card holders have free access to thousands of ebooks, audio ebooks and music through the website.

The class, taught by Information Services Supervistor Jamie Bayne, will be at noon each Tuesday in April and May at the Main Branch, 1740 Central Ave. The course will cover a difference device each week and also discuss electronic services such as OverDriver, Freading, OneClick Digital and Freegal. The schedule is as follows:

April 2 and May 7: iPod, iPad and iPhone

April 9 and May 14: Nook

April 16 and May 21: Kindle

April 23 and May 28: PCs and other devices
