High schools selling lockers, parking passes
HUNTINGTON -- Cabell Midland and Huntington High schools will be selling parking passes and use of lockers for the upcoming school year.
Parking passes are $40 and must be bought prior to a student driving to school. Students and parents must also sign the Cabell County Schools' drug policy, which puts drivers into a random drug testing pool, along with providing a driver's license, proof of insurance and vehicle registration.
Students cannot buy passes for other students, but parents can purchase passes for their own children.
Passes for Cabell Midland will be sold from 8 a.m. to noon in the student center on Thursday, July 18; Thursday, July 25; and Thursday, Aug. 1. Passes also will be sold on Fridays after school starts.
At Huntington High, parking permits will be sold from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday, July 29 to Aug. 2. A per-semester permit is available for $25. Lost parking tags will be replaced at $10.
Locker rentals also will be sold at Huntington High during the same week. Seniors can come July 29, juniors on July 30, sophomores on July 31 and freshmen on Aug. 1. The cost is $5.
Anyone who cannot rent a locker that week can get one on the first day of school.
