United High School Media winners

HUNTINGTON -- The W. Page Pitt School of Journalism and Mass Communications recently hosted its annual United High School Media convention at Marshall University.

High school journalism students and their advisers from across West Virginia participated in workshops in newspaper, advertising and broadcast topics. The workshop leaders were university professors, student assistants and local media members.

Students from schools submitted entries of their best work as a group as well as individual work.

Awards were presented this year for the best entries in newspaper, yearbook and online journalism productions in the categories of writing, design and overall quality.
