Huntington to host bicycle race on Saturday for Food Bank
HUNTINGTON — Cranksgiving, which has bicyclists competing to collect food items during an alleycat style bike race, is in its third year in Huntington. There’s a noon start time Saturday (Nov. 17) at Jeff's Bike Shop, 740 6th Ave., Huntington.
There is no entry fee, but contestants should bring $15-20 to purchase food during the race. Prizes are generously donated by local business sponsors.
All food goes to the Huntington Area Food Bank, http://hafb.org/
This is a community-wide event, and non-cyclists or those who wish not to compete are encouraged to volunteer time, or donate additional food. This is a tough time of year for many, and the underprivileged feel it worst of all.
