Summer camp for gifted students set for June 16

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. -- Students entering fifth through 12th grades next school year who are classified as gifted are eligible to attend a summer camp in Buckhannon in June.

The camp will take place June 16-29 and includes advanced classes in astronomy, physics, math, literature, creative writing, computer programming and history -- all taught by college professors. It will be held at West Virginia Wesleyan College, where students also will be housed in dorms. They also will be supervised by college-age counselors.

There also will be movies, guest speakers, group activities, athletic opportunities and a talent show.

Applications will be accepted until the first day of camp, but pre-registration is recommended. A $200 deposit is required.
