Barboursville school, PTO to introduce parents to lunch
BARBOURSVILLE -- Village of Barboursville Elementary and its parent-teacher organization are inviting parents to find out what their children are eating at lunch.
The event will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 25, at the school, 718 Central Ave., Barboursville.
Lunch night was designed to help parents see and taste the menu items, some of which have been developed in the past few years since Cabell County started scratch cooking. It also will include items from the salad and fruit bars that students can choose from each day.
The school cafeteria supervisor, Mary Cook, will answer parent questions and the PTO will have nutrition games and activities for the students, including a "Got Milk" photo booth.
The event is part of the school's Healthy Lifestyles Day on Friday, April 26.
