Keep the kids busy and active with choice of many camps

School is nearing its end for the year and you, dear reader, will then be at home with these wildlings that we call our children.

While the kids would love a summer that's wall-to-wall video games and cartoon marathons, it's up to us to make sure their brains and our sanity don't turn into Slushieville.

Here's a look at just a few of the many summer camps for kids available throughout the Tri-State.

ART

Huntington Museum Of Art Elementary Art Camp: Painting, drawing, clay and more will enlighten hearts and spark creativity. Campers will be divided into age appropriate groups: K-1st, 2nd-3rd, and 4th-5th. Week I: July 8-12; Week II: July 15-19. Runs Monday through Friday 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Extended hours available. Dissection Camp: Mountwest Community & Technical College is offering Explore Life, a hands-on dissection camp this summer for students in grades 5 through 12. Specimen may include: clam, crayfish, earthworm, grassfrog, perch, starfish, grantia (sponge), grasshopper, honeybee, hydra, fetal pig, and rat.
