The Herald-Dispatch West Virginia 5k Championship

WHAT: The 5k race is a fundraiser for anti-obesity initatives of the United Way of the River Cities.

WHEN: 8 a.m. Saturday, June 22.

WHERE: Pullman Square in downtown Huntington.

HOW TO REGISTER: Early registration is $20 before Wednesday, June 5. After that registration is $25, but runners must register by Monday, June 17, to qualify for a T-shirt. Race day registration is $30. Entry fees are non-refundable. Online registration is at www.WV5K.com. Participants may also send a print registration form to: WV 5K Championship, 613 Shaw Street, Barboursville, WV 25504. Make checks payable to WV 5K Championship. Packet pickup is from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday, June 21, at the Pullman Plaza Hotel.

RUNNING CLASSES: The Marshall University Recreation Center is offering classes beginning Tuesday, May 21, to prepare those running for the first time. For more information about the classes, contact Michele Muth at pallante1@marshall.edu or at 304-696-2943.
