New principals graduate from leadership academy

CHARLESTON -- More than 100 West Virginia principals recently graduated from the West Virginia Center for Professional Development's Principals' Leadership Academy for New Principals.

The program is a state-mandated, professional development experience for West Virginia's new principals and assistant principals. The Center for Professional Development provides three, two-day sessions to assist administrators as they transition into their roles as instructional leaders.

Local principals who completed the academy include: Jennifer Ross, Joan Adkins, Lauren Werthammer, Lisa Riley and Robert St. Clair, Cabell County; Chastidy Graham, Derek Christian, Don Davis and John Roy, Lincoln County; Ellen Vannoy, Jackie Schimmel, Kerri Lewis, Shawn Hawkins and Stacy Bissell, Mason County; David Harper, Putnam County; Brian Davis, Chanda Perry, Doug Shilot, Margaret Williamson, Shayne Carey, Stephanie McCloud and Tonji Bowen, Wayne County.
