Jul. 23, 2013 @ 07:08 AM

HUNTINGTON — The McDonald’s Tri-State Criterium Bicycle Race organizers gave $1,000 to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Tri-State, located in Huntington.

Jere Gilpin of McDonald’s and Jeff Joy of Jeff’s Bike Shop  presented Margaret Wilson of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Tri-State with a check for $1,000 on July 10.

The bicycle race was June 1 at Pullman Square in downtown Huntington. More than 150 riders competed in different categories. The race featured sponsor booths as well as games and activities for children.  Admission to the race and its events were free to the public.

McDonald’s, Jeff’s Bike Shop, and Scott Orthopedic Center all provided the support necessary to make this year’s race such a success.  Additionally, the sponsors wanted to be sure to include an element of giving through their donation to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Tri-State.
