Financial stability program offered July 27

Jul. 26, 2013 @ 07:02 AM

HUNTINGTON — The Financial Stability Partnership of the River Cities and Fifth Third Bank are hosting a family-oriented financial fitness fair. Its theme is “Become a Financial Superhero” and it’s planned for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 27, at 820 Madison Ave., across from the Department of Motor Vehicles building.

Organizations and agencies that help families learn about income, savings and asset building will be on hand, including groups that eliminate barriers to financial stability. They can discuss child care, health care, higher education and training, interviewing and resume skills, housing and banking.

The Fifth Third Financial Empowerment Mobile (eBus) will provide access to professional financial advice and guidance. And there will be attractions for kids, including inflatables, games, prizes and a chance to meet favorite superheroes.

The schedule of events is as follows:

9 a.m.: Batman, Batgirl and Captain America will be there to meet kids.

11 a.m.: Kid’s costume contest for children 12 and younger, who can dress as their favorite superhero and be entered into a Facebook costume contest.

Noon: Door prize drawing with prizes from Books-a-Million, Latta’s and more.
