Steens Antiques to have opening during First Friday Art Walk

Feb. 07, 2014 @ 07:51 AM

ASHLAND — Downtown Ashland’s arts corridor comes alive just before Valentine’s Day as they host the First Friday Art Walk that runs from  5 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7.

Celebrate at The Pendleton Art Center, 1537-1539 Winchester Ave., as they host  Wine and Design,  a fundraiser hosted by Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital to support the cause of fighting heart disease. Don your red, enjoy a wine tasting from the Rock Springs Winery and a painting session with a local art. Music will be by Jeff Stewart. Pendleton is also open 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8 for Second Look Saturday. Andy’s Sweet and Savory Cafe inside Pendleton Art Center will be open as well.

Other nearby galleries include Upstairs Gallery, 1430 Winchester Ave., where the featured artist is contemporary collage artist Robbie Poore. That opening is set for 5:30 to 8 p.m. Friday. Poore’s show will be up for the next month.
Also on First Friday, celebrate the opening of Steen Antiques Emporium, 1510 Winchester Ave., a new business opening. Stop by on First Friday for free hot cider and homemade goodies, and check out the new shop.

Steen Antique Emporium caters to vendors who rent space and set up individual displays to sell their wares. The general public can visit and purchase an array of antique furniture, Collectibles, antique firearms, glassware, lighting and many other items one would expect to find in this type of shop

Hours for the new antiques shop will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. For more info, call 606-327-6949 or email steenantiqueemporium@gmail.com.
