Kohl's Kids Scholarship Program recognizes four area students

Jul. 14, 2013 @ 12:00 AM

HUNTINGTON -- Four area students have been recognized as Kohl's Kids through the company's Kohl's Cares Scholarship Program.

The students were chosen for their volunteer efforts that have impacted their communities. Each of the 12 students from West Virginia will receive a $50 gift card and a certificate from Kohl's.

The local recipients are Cali Blake of Huntington, Tiffani Webb of Culloden and Kinsington Hammack-McClure and Danae Wells of St. Albans.

These winners qualify for the chance to receive a $1,000 regional scholarship for higher education, which Kohl's will award in July. Of the nearly 200 regional winners, 10 national winners will each receive a total of $10,000 in scholarships, and Kohl's will donate $1,000 to a nonprofit organization on each national winner's behalf. In total this year, Kohl's will recognize more than 2,300 young volunteers with more than $400,000 in scholarships and prizes.
