Poca show choir wins divisional grand champion

POCA -- Poca High School's Visual Volume show choir was named the grand champion in the small school division at the West Virginia Music Educators Association State Show Choir Festival on March 23.

The group also was named the association's Honor Choir for having the highest score in the competition. Poca also was awarded best vocals, best choreography and best instrumental ensemble. The group also earned a superior rating, and Slater Jarrell was named the best male soloist.

The members include Katie Barnett, Chase Bailey, Morgan Byrne, Sam Belling, Luke Casto, Mariah Cook, Allan Cook, Katie Cottrill, Madison Cottrill, Brittany Cunningham, Brandon Drake, Taylor Dean, Madison Eastwood, Troy Holestein, Slater Jarrell, Cody King, Taylor Isaacs, Cierra James, Marcus Kapp, Robbie Lacy, Brandon Landers, Adam Luikart, Destinee Keyes, Tristan Landers, Kasey Lett, Corey McClanahan, Mckenzie Matthews, Caleb Parsons, Emily Muck, Logan Reedy, Paige Reames, Shane Robinson, Zach Russell, Mason Sigman, Carrissa Sellards, Sami Shamblin, Makala Sharp, Rachael Skeens, Caity Smith, Rachel Snedegar, Stephanie Whaples, Whitley Winter, Tabby Withrow and Emily Wolfe.

The instrumentalists include Madalyn Arnott, A.J. Ford, Sarah Casey, Wyatt Grose, Hailey Lanham, Joey Johnson, Lynette Short, Keith Naylor, Jake Paxton, Brandon Saunders, Drake Schoolcraft and Travis Slack.

The stage crew includes Ciera Jones, Corey McClure, Clayton Hedrick, Drew Comer, Tyler Bailey, Bryce Dolan, Trey McKinney and Haiden Bailey.
