Camden Park rocking three nights of national acts, two nights of fireworks
Camden Park revs up for a big Labor Day Weekend with national act bands coming in Saturday through Monday and then fireworks on Saturday and Sunday night.
My music pick for the weekend is Saturday night when Nashville Americana artist Paul Burch and the WPA Ballclub swing in.
Burch is stacking up lots of acclaim for his tribute to Buddy Holly called, “Words of Love,” and has had songs on such shows as “True Blood,” and has worked with such artists as Mark Knopfler.
On Sunday, it’s another soulful Americana band from Nashville, Humming House and fireworks to follow. Their music has been featured on CMT Pure and they’ve been on the bill at the Americana Music Festival and Bristol’s Rhythm and Roots Fest.
On Monday, Labor Day, it’s the Virginia old-time band, Black Twig Pickers firing up the stage there by the Midway.
Camden Park has 26 rides and attractions including the Swan Lake paddleboats, the 18-hole WV Adventure Mini-golf, a full-service café, shops, games and concessions.
