School Board to interview candidates

January 09, 2013 @ 12:00 AM

The Herald-Dispatch

WAYNE -- The Wayne County Board of Education has scheduled three special meetings in the coming week to interview superintendent candidates.

The meetings will take place Wednesday and Thursday, Jan. 9 and 10, and Monday, Jan. 14, at the board office, 212 North Court St., Wayne. All three meetings will start at 4:55 p.m. The interviews will be conducted in executive session under the personnel exemption.

Board members are working to replace Gary Adkins, who cited health concerns when he retired in October. Former superintendent Michael Ferguson was appointed as interim superintendent until a new candidate is hired. The West Virginia School Board Association helped advertise the job and find candidates. Board members meet for a regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15.
