Fairland High School Choir raising money for the American Heart Association
PROCTORVILLE, Ohio -- Nine singers from The Fairland High School Men's Choir are raising money for the American Heart Association's Heart Month.
The singers have formed teams and recorded a video of the teams singing the 1950's song "Goodnight Sweetheart." Students at Fairland watched the videos on the school's in-house morning news show. Students vote for their favorite singing group by paying $1 a vote and all the money goes to The American Heart Association.
The winning group will be rewarded with pizza. The contest runs through Valentine's Day.
"This is the first year we've tried something like this, but these young men were brave enough to try it and I think it's going to be a success," Deborah Bradley, the group's director, said in a release. "Raising awareness that heart disease is the number one killer of women is important in itself; being able to donate to the cause is an added bonus. I'm really proud of these guys for stepping up and making a difference."
