MCTC to host College Day for Cabell seniors

HUNTINGTON -- Nearly 200 high schools seniors from Cabell County are learning more about college and careers with Mountwest Community and Technical College as part of Advantage Valley Consortium College Day on Wednesday, Feb. 13.

Students will be explore programs in their interest and can take part in classes or demonstration as well as visit local businesses. Those interested in the machinist program will visit the Robert C. Byrd Institute, and those interested in the aviation program will go to the Huntington Tri-State Airport.

"The purpose of College Day is to give students a snapshot and some hands-on activity in fields they may be interested in pursuing in college," Billie Brooks, dean of Student Services at Mountwest, said in a release. "Students will also have the opportunity to mingle with faculty and students in their chosen field, as well as take a tour of Mountwest."
