Weekend rocking with roller skating events

HUNTINGTON — Out of the way snot-nosed tweens, this weekend we’re rolling with some way cool adult roller skating sessions.

 At 11:30 p.m. Friday, Roll-A-Rama, hosts Yo! Old School Adult Skating Party as DJ Ill Spin plays iconic hip hop, R&B, rock and slow jams from back in the day. Admission is $5 advance or $10 at the door. Call 304-529-0909 or get advance tickets at www.skatewv.eventbrite.com.

On Sunday, Huntington’s owner rollerderby team, the Jewel City Rollergirls are celebrating their second-year anniversary with a bash from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, at Skateland, 4430 Altizer Ave., Huntington.

 Enjoy a live scrimmage and lots of festivities. Admission is $5 for ages 13 and up, $3 for ages 5 to 12 and free for kids ages four and under. Go online at www.jewelcityrollergirlz.com for more information.
