United Way campaign under way

Dec. 04, 2012 @ 12:00 AM

The 2012 campaign is under way for The United Way of the River Cities with a goal of $1.25 million. Reaching that goal helps fund programs for more than 20 Tri-State agencies that provide vital services in Cabell, Wayne, Mason and Lincoln counties in West Virginia and Lawrence County, Ohio. One of those partners is the Kiwanis Child Care.

Program mission: To provide affordable, quality day care to children of parents who work or attend school.

Outcome: Kiwanis provides child care services to 70 children daily and as a result 62 families are able to secure, retain and maintain employment or educational endeavors. Children with special needs are identified and receive Special Needs Services. Children are assessed and receive developmental opportunities from Early Childhood Education trained staff in age appropriate and adequately equipped classrooms in order to reach developmental milestones

How you can help: Give through the campaign where you work or visit www.giveunitedway.org. For more information, contact Director of Resource Development Will Holland at 304-523-8929, Ext. 2, or will.holland@unitedwayrivercities.org.
