United Way of the River Cities campaign is under way
The 2012 campaign is under way for The United Way of the River Cities with a goal of $1.25 million. Reaching that goal helps fund programs for more than 20 Tri-State agencies that provide vital services in Cabell, Wayne, Mason and Lincoln counties in West Virginia and Lawrence County, Ohio. One of those partners is the Girl Scouts Kentucky's Wilderness Road - Live Healthy Lead Healthy program.
Program mission: Encourages girls to get active, eat better, improve their self-esteem, and create a path toward a healthier life.
Outcome: Girls will be exposed to activities that increase physical activities, and will have increased knowledge and improved positive attitude toward healthy food choices. When girls participate in fun, healthy activities, it helps them avoid risky behaviors.
How you can help: Give through the campaign where you work or visit www.giveunitedway.org. For more information, contact Director of Resource Development Will Holland at 304-523-8929, Ext. 2, or firstname.lastname@example.org.
