Jan. 13, 2013 @ 12:00 AM

CHARLESTON -- Applications are being sought for the National Youth Science Foundation's annual summer camp.

At least two students from West Virginia will be selected to attend the month-long honors program at Camp Pocahontas in the eastern mountains of the state's Potomac Highlands.

The camp is a residential science education program for young scientists the summer after they graduate from high school. Students from around the country are challenged academically in lectures and hands-on studies, and have voluntary opportunities to participate in an outdoor adventure program.

The camp is free for those selected. Two students are chosen from each state. This year's camp will be held June 26 through July 20.

Complete applications must be postmarked by Friday, Feb. 15, 2013.

Application information is available online at http://apply.nysc.org. For more information, contact Andrew Blackwood at Andrew.Blackwood@nysf.com or by calling 304-205-9724, Ext. 91.
