Huntington Area Food Bank hosting a coloring contest for kids

Feb. 05, 2013 @ 10:50 PM

HUNTINGTON -- The Huntington Area Food Bank is hosting a coloring contest for children in kindergarten through fifth grade

The theme of the contest is Food Fun. The design will be for the food bank's new thank-you cards.

Four winners will be chosen and designs will be printed postcards and sent to food Bank donors. Each winner will receive a $50 gift card to Wal-Mart.

Designs should show healthy foods, good eating habits and/or family connections contributing to a healthy lifestyle. Designs must be 4 1/2 inches by 6 inches (standard postcard size) and must be done in crayon or marker-no colored pencil. All entries must have an entry form signed by a parent or guardian. The winner's first name, age, town and school will be printed along with their design.

The food bank serves nearly 100,000 people every month and use the money contributed from donors to purchase and deliver food in 17 counties in West Virginia, Kentucky and Ohio.

Submissions must be postmarked by March 15. Winners will be announced April 1.
