Hunting of the Eggs
HUNTINGTON — We’re still a little more than a week away from Easter, but egg hunts galore are dotting the region.
Here’s a look at a few of the most recent events that have been reported to us. For more egg hunts and other Easter-related events, visit our online calendar at www.herald-dispatch.com.
The South Point Volunteer Fire Department and Cross Commmunity Church will host a free Easter Egg Hunt for children up to age 12 beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12 at the South Point Board Office.
There will be more than 15,000 eggs, the Easter Bunny, inflatables, prizes and more. The egg hunt will be divided into three age groups. Famlies can pre-register online at www.AroundC3.com/eggapalooza.
Boyd County Public Library
Boyd County Public Library is celebrating Easter with an egg hunt for kids ages 3 to 12. Nearly 1,000 eggs will be hidden around the Central Park Bandstand on Saturday, April 19. The egg hunt will be divided into five age groups: ages 3 to 4; 5 to 6; 7 to 8; 9 to 10; and 11 to 12. No child older than 12 will be allowed to participate.
In addition to the egg hunt there will be games, an Easter bonnet contest, a visit from Peanuts the Clown, a raffle drawing, and much more! Remember to bring your camera and have your picture taken with the Easter Bunny.
The festivities will be located at the Central Park Bandstand and will begin promptly at 11 a.m. Other activities for children will continue until 1 p.m.
In case of rain, the event will be rescheduled for Sunday, April 20, at 2 p.m.

Gallaher Village Square
Beverly Hills United Methodist Church will host an Easter egg hunt for kids 10 and younger at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 12, at Gallaher Village Square, located at the corner of Norway Avenue and Gallaher Street in front of the Cabell County 911 Center.
The Easter Bunny will make a visit, and there will be refreshments, games and door prizes. For more information, call the church at 304-529-3383.
Milton Community Easter egg hunt
The Milton Community Easter Egg Hunt will be Sunday, April 13, at April Dawn Park. Festivities begin at 2:30 p.m. and the hunt will begin at 3 p.m.
It is hosted by Milton United Methodist, Milton Baptist and Milton Presbyterian churches.
There will be face painting, Easter Bunny photo opportunities, live music, thousands of eggs filled with candy and prizes and more. Age groups will be up to age 3, ages 4-6 and ages 7-10.
The Dawg’s Easter Eggstravaganza
The Dawg’s 5th annual Easter Eggstravaganza will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 10, on the Cabell County Courthouse Lawn. The event is free and open to ages infant through 13.
There will be 10,000 candy and toy-stuffed eggs as well as other prizes.
