Rose clippings are shared from the Ritter Park Rose Garden

Nov. 02, 2012 @ 12:00 AM

HUNTINGTON -- Tri-State residents got a chance to bring a little of the Ritter Park Rose Garden home with them on Thursday.

The Greater Huntington Park & Recreation District gave out rose clippings, which are called slips, on Thursday morning. The slips can be planted in home gardens, but those who brought home slips were encouraged to have their beds prepared in advance. Roses grow best in well-drained beds away from trees that receive early morning sun, according to the park district.

For more information, please call the park district at 304-696-5954.
