Church to have a silent auction Saturday, April 26
HUNTINGTON -- There will be a silent auction Saturday, April 26 at 26th Street Baptist Church, 2510 10th Ave., in the multipurpose building.
The event, which is scheduled for 5 to 8 p.m., will help raise funds for the church's 2014 missions projects. Among those projects are a trip to McDowell County where church members will perform home maintenance projects for low income families, and to fund the purchase and shipping of backpacks, school supplies and Bibles for underprivileged students in Belize City, Belize.
A concession stand will be available with all revenue also benefiting the missions projects. No menu item will cost more than $1.
During the auction there will also be a DessertFest. Participants can sample a dozens of desserts. Tasting tickets are available for a donation of $1 each or six for $5. Vote for your favorite dessert as chefs compete for the Heavenly DessertFest trophy.
