Huntington High invites community to enter parade
HUNTINGTON -- Students at Huntington High School are getting ready for a star-studded homecoming affair.
The Highlanders will host their homecoming festivities Thursday and Friday, Sept. 25 and 26. This year's theme is Classic Hollywood.
Local business groups and community organizations are invited to participate in the school's parade at 7 p.m. Sept. 25. The parade will feature organizations from the high school as well as its feeder middle and elementary schools.
Prizes will be awarded for groups who show the most spirit.
The Highlander football team will face MSAC rival Ripley High School at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 26.
"It's our goal to create an atmosphere second to none," said Bruce Senior, athletic director at Huntington High. "We have a great thing at Huntington High School. We're proud of our school and city and want to strengthen the bond between the two."
The deadline for entry into the parade is Friday, Sept. 19.
