Dinosaur films returning to Clay Center's ElectricSky Theater
CHARLESTON — See fan favorites from years past when the Clay Center brings back some of its most popular films for a limited-time engagement. The Center's Fan Favorite Film Fest begins Saturday, Nov. 9 with "Dinosaurs: Giants of Patagonia" and "Sea Monsters: A Prehistoric Adventure."
Get up close and personal with some of the biggest, most dangerous predators to ever walk the earth in "Dinosaurs: Giants of Patagonia." Show times will be at 1 and 4 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.
Follow world-renowned paleontologist Professor Rodolfo Coria to sites of major discoveries in a beautiful South American region encompassing the southernmost sections of the Andes Mountains. Travel back in time to see two of history's most amazing creatures come to life - the massive, plant-eating Argentinosaur and its nemesis, a beast that could easily challenge the infamous T-Rex, the Giganotosaurus.
Plunge into the lost world of underwater dinosaurs with "Sea Monsters: A Prehistoric Adventure." Show times will be at noon and 3 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and at 3 p.m. Sundays.
Go on a remarkable journey into the relatively unexplored lives of history's grandest ocean creatures in a film that weaves together spectacular animation with incredible finds from paleontological digs around the world. Follow a family of Dolichorhynchops, short-necked carnivorous creatures, as they traverse ancient waters populated with extraordinary animals like saber-toothed fish, prehistoric sharks and giant squid in this amazing adventure.
Clay Center members can see both films in a private screening at a members-only double feature night Thursday, Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. Admission is free for Screen Stars members, and all other museum members can see both films for just $5 at this special event. Seating is limited, so members should pre-register with payment by calling 304-561-3570.
"Dinosaurs: Giants of Patagonia" and "Sea Monsters" will run through Jan. 3. The Fan Favorite Film Fest will continue with "Shackleton's Antarctic Adventure" and "Everest" beginning Jan. 4. For more information on all Clay Center programs, visit www.theclaycenter.org or call 304-561-3570.
