Tri-State Literacy Council seeking tutors

HUNTINGTON -- The Tri-State Literacy Council will host free trainings for people who are interested in being tutors.

Four required training sessions are scheduled for Monday, Oct. 8; Wednesday, Oct. 10; Monday, Oct. 15; and Wednesday, Oct. 17. Each session runs from 5:30 to 8 p.m. and takes place on the third floor of the Cabell County Public Library, 455 9th St., Huntington.

Tutors who are matched with an adult student can expect to meet with them for one to two hours each week at one of the county libraries.

Volunteers from the surrounding Tri-State are encouraged to contact Tri-State Literacy Council. Tutors currently are needed to work with waiting students in Huntington, Kenova and Wayne.
