Here’s a rundown of some health-related classes and other offerings over the next week in Huntington:
St. Mary’s Medical Center
n Vascular Screenings, Tuesday, Feb. 18, in the Vascular lab on the first floor of Regional Heart Institute. Screenings will test for peripheral vascular disease, abdominal aortic aneurysm, and carotid artery disease.

n Young Adults with Cancer Support Group, 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, in Room 204 of the Heart Institute.
Cabell Huntington Hospital
n Surgical Weight Control Seminar, 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, at 1115 20th St., Huntington.

n Parkinson’s Disease Support Group, 6 p.m. Feb. 18, in the Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center Resource Room.
The Senior Services Department invites anyone affected by Parkinson’s disease as a patient, caregiver or family member, to participate in this monthly support group focused on coping with the disease. Everyone is welcome. The February meeting will feature Dr. Paul Ferguson, a neurologist with Marshall Neuroscience and Cabell Huntington Hospital.

n Stroke Recovery and Support Group, 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24. The Cabell Huntington Hospital Stroke Recovery & Support Group’s monthly meeting is for anyone who has suffered a stroke and for friends and loved ones of those recovering from a stroke. Call 304-526-6317 for meeting location.

n Exploring the World with Huntington’s Kitchen, 6-7:30 p.m. Feb. 18, at the Kitchen. Exploring the World with Huntington’s Kitchen is a series of classes that take place the third Tuesday of each month to celebrate the cuisine and culture of different countries and regions of the world.
In most cases, the host will be a Tri-State resident with family ties to the region being featured. Each session features a live cooking demonstration and plenty of opportunities for tasting. More Information: 304-522-0887. RSVP required.
n Basics of the Mediterranean Diet-Side Dishes,10:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, at the Kitchen. Participants of this program will learn the basics of Italian Mediterranean cooking. It incorporates the basics of healthy eating and always a splash of flavorful extra virgin olive oil. The lifestyle also recognizes the importance of being physically active and enjoying meals with family and friends.
