Modern pop artist shares creative spirit

Jun. 25, 2013 @ 06:59 AM

HUNTINGTON -- Visitors to two Cabell County Public Library Branches weren't hungry for fun Friday.

Artist Michael Albert, who practices what he calls "Cerealism" was on hand at the main branch in Huntington and the Salt Rock library to give a modern pop art presentation based on his book, "An Artist's America," which was followed by cereal box collage workshops.

Participants in each workshop received free art gifts from Albert.

The presentations were part of the library's summer theme, Dig into Reading, which focuses on "digging into our West Virginia heritage" with programs that celebrate the state through reading camps, story times, craft workshops, prize drawings a reading club and other special events, according to a press release from the library.
