BARBOURSVILLE — Miss Ellie’s Story Hour at the Barboursville Branch Library takes place at 10 a.m. every Wednesday with an encore performance at 10:30 a.m. Thursdays.

Children five years old and younger are invited to attend to join Miss Ellie for stories, songs and crafts. Miss Ellie is Eleanor Baumgardner and she reads stories to the children who attend.

Last Wednesday Miss Ellie read Buzzy the Bumble Bee by Denise Brennan Nelson and On Beyond Bugs by Tish Rabe. Miss Ellie said that the students also danced to the “Flight of the Bumble Bee.”

The program is a part of the library’s program “Catch the Reading Bug,” which rewards children of any age for reading over the summer.

“Our main goal is to keep the children reading over the summer and to gain the love reading,” said Linda LaRue, the branch manager of the Barboursville Library.
